The Senate President, Bukola Saraki has reacted to the extension of the deadline for the collection of Permanent Voters Card, PVCs by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
In a terse statement via its official Twitter page, INEC had said: ”The Collection of PVCs scheduled to end today Friday 8th February 2019 is hereby extended Nationwide to Monday 11th February 2019. This will include Saturday and Sunday.”
Reacting, Saraki said the extension of the deadline was a welcome development.
Saraki, in a tweet, stated that the extension of the deadline will allow more young Nigerians to participate in the forthcoming election.
“INEC has just announced that it will be extending the collection of #PVCs to Monday, February 11th. This is a great development.
“Now, more young Nigerians will be able to participate in the 2019 General Elections.
“With your #PVC, you can vote for a government that will get our economy working again, solve the insecurity issues in your community, and create more opportunities for you and your loved ones,” he wrote.
